Survey on Site and Monument Data Standards in Germany

Basis for the development of cross-border standards for the exchange of monument and site data

The TWG “Environmental Analysis of the RDM Landscape in the Field of Cultural Heritage Preservation and Maintenance” is currently conducting an expert survey to determine how monument and site data are structured and described in Germany. It is aimed at state monument authorities and other institutions that manage, describe, and exchange information on sites, protection areas, archaeological, architectural, and cultural monuments, etc.

The results of the survey will be summarized and published in white papers. In the future, they will serve as the basis for the needs-oriented development of new, cross-border standards for the exchange of monument and site data within the framework of the NFDI4Objects work program.
