What is a service?
At NFDI4Objects we offer a wide range of services.
In a white paper, the NFDI Consortium Assembly defined a service as follows: “In the NFDI, a service is understood to be a technical and organisational solution that typically includes storage and computing services, software, processes and workflows as well as the necessary personnel support for various service desks.”
The service portfolio that is made available to researchers must also be adequately documented in terms of possible uses and systematically (harmonised) described in terms of comparability (see Whitepaper). As a consortium, NFDI4Objects is part of the NFDI. For this reason, we follow this definition. Our services include long-term storage facilities, databases, libraries, APIs, guidance for optimised workflows, tools, (web) applications, assistance, consulting, training and qualification measures.
