This TWG on analysing the environment of the research data management landscape in museums and collections is dedicated to recording and evaluating the surveys already conducted by the actors involved.

Among other things, these were related to the use of controlled vocabularies, thesauri, standardised data, classifications, ontologies, data models, database applications and collection management systems, the implementation of the FAIR principles, data exchange formats, PIDs, the establishment of data management plans, metadata standards and metadata schemas. Systematic research is also carried out in (online) publications on the subject.

New surveys - in addition to the previous ones - can be designed and qualitative individual interviews conducted with representatives from the collection community if required.

Collected results will be analysed and requirements and fields of action derived from them. A list of standards, vocabularies and tools used will also be compiled for later integration into the NFDI4Objects commons.
