Task Area 4 creates opportunities to FAIRify the heterogeneous and decentralised research data landscape that arises in the context of protective measures on movable and immovable tangible cultural heritage, and to provide interoperable data.

To this end, technical exchange interfaces and formats are being developed that can be used to exchange research data across repositories (e.g. collection databases, web portals, topic-related specialist databases). This includes data on cultural monuments, protected areas, citizen science activities, heritage preservation measures in specific areas, restoration/conservation science, etc.

In this way, data from a wide range of data holders can be made interoperable for research, official use and collaboration with archaeological companies in a way that is easier to find, reuse and access.

The definition of multi-level access rights will ensure that data holders can protect their interests and rights in a differentiated way.

In addition, an interface should also cover legal consequences, such as those arising from the different heritage protection laws in the federal states.
