Service for retrieving objects across distributed systems by developing joint geodata services (INSPIRE)
In order to enable better retrievability and usability of cultural heritage data, which is created, among others, by state heritage offices, universities or citizen scientists, Task Area 4 will develop an INSPIRE and OGC compliant online geodata service.
This is to cover data on sites, monuments, excavations, suspected sites, protected sites and sites subject to measures, and also to present legal consequences, such as those arising from the different monument protection laws in the federal states. For the area of restoration/conservation, geodata is also important with regard to the site and the environmental conditions of the objects and will be included in the minimal metadata set for their documentation.
This should enable a daily updated view of the data in the archives and systems of the data holders.
The service will enable user access via a URL and, if the data holders allow it, it can also be integrated into external systems via an API.
