Jointly developing standards

NFDI4Objects is a community-driven consortium - your input and engagement are key to developing research data management standards and specifications for object-related data that truly reflect the needs of the community. In order to implement the measures and tasks of the NFDI4Objects work programme, so-called Temporary Working Groups (TWGs) will be established. Anyone - member of the consortium or not - is welcome to participate in these.

What are TWGs?

While the Community Clusters function as open discussion platforms, Temporary Working Groups (TWGs) are set up to develop concrete results and solutions on specific and current topics in smaller working groups. They develop concrete standards as contributions to the N4O Commons or develop needs-orientated workflows. In principle, TWGs are open to everyone - this ensures that the work programme is always optimally aligned with the needs of the community.

How is a TWG founded?

TWGs are set up as soon as specific issues need to be resolved in consultation with the community: Either following impulses from our task areas or directly from the community. This close collaboration ensures that the results of our work come directly from and for the community.

The foundation of a TWG is initiated by at least one co-applicant. After an open call for participation, members are appointed by the spokesperson of the consortium. A TWG remains active until its goals are achieved, it merges with another group or its work is discontinued.

Your participation is needed!

Your perspective counts: Get involved and play an active role in shaping the future. Transparency is particularly important to us - all minutes of the TWGs can be viewed and commented on online

To make sure you never miss a call for participation in new TWGs, we recommend that you sign up for our newsletter. This will keep you up to date and let you know immediately when new TWGs are launched.
