The Computer-Anwendungen und Quantitative Methoden in der Archäologie (CAA) e.V. is a registered association that pursues exclusively non-profit goals. These include

  • the promotion of scientific exchange on questions of computer applications and quantitative methods in archaeology at conferences and working meetings as well as in publications,
  • the promotion or organisation of training and further education events as well as the necessary procurement and administration of financial resources.
  • The tasks of the association also include representing its members in other national and international societies, organisations, committees and specialist commissions.

As the German section, the association is the national representative of the international association “Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology” (CAA for short), which holds an annual conference at different venues. The English-language constitution sets out the relevant regulations.
