Cross-NFDI graduate workshop ‘Written cultures of the Middle Ages in digital perspective’
Call for Applications (Deadline 23 April 2025)
From 22-23 August 2025, the cross-NFDI graduate workshop ‘Schriftkulturen des Mittelalters in digitaler Perspektive’ will take place in Berlin, organised by the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin together with the Münzkabinett der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin and #NFDI4Memory as well as #NFDI4Objects (Community Cluster Objects as Inscription Carriers).
In the two-day workshop, various aspects of digital work with historical inscribed objects will be explored theoretically in keynote speeches by experts in the field and tested practically in hands-on exercises by the participants. Questions about the methodological relevance and possible application scenarios of digital processes in humanities and medieval studies research will be supplemented by considerations on the digital publication and reusable documentation of the research data generated in the work process.
Applications for participation (including coverage of travel and accommodation costs) are open to graduates (B.A. and above) with a specialist connection to medieval research (e.g. historians, archaeologists, Germanists) until 23 April 2025. Detailed information on the procedure and the workshop can be found here: https://blog.sbb.berlin/termin/mittelalterliche-schriftkulturen-in-digitaler-perspektive/.
